COLLEGE APPLICATION WRITING COURSE
Applying for universities can be a laborious experience that is filled with all sorts of questions that allow the schools to know a bit about who a student is: grades, family information, financial questions, etc. As this information is being gathered, the application is developing a sort of “picture” of the student that is applying…and guess what?!?! Most students look very similar to each other on paper. This is why the “Personal Insight Questions” and other important essay style prompts are so important. It is in these responses (usually 250-650 words) that the school admissions team really gets a true “feel” for who you are. These questions are more personal, and because of this, a properly written response can help solidify a student as a candidate for the school of their choice. John Barger has personally helped write thousands of these application responses over the past decade, and he has created a system that ensures that the readers of the students’ applications will be able to “see” the real “person” without having ever even met. Each student has a story to tell; they are amazing and experienced in their own various ways, and JCB EDU is here to make certain that these universities know it!
(Each course consist of two sessions as well as feedback on each students paper)
11TH GRADE "FINISH WELL” COURSE
For truly goal oriented students, senior year begins in January, not August. January, in the middle of a student’s junior year, marks the beginning of twelve months of making hefty decisions, taking weighty exams, writing some of the most important “essays” of their scholastic career, and applying at institutions that will catapult them into adulthood. It sounds like a lot…because it is. That said, it is totally manageable. There are things a student can be doing to make the most important year of their scholastic lives less stressful and more exciting and enjoyable. Most importantly, there is a checklist that students can begin working on that will give them a much higher chance at obtaining their ultimate goal. In our “Finish Well” course, Mr. Barger will take each student through his checklist and help them navigate their way through the process. While this course is primarily for students, parents are invited to join us as well to help calm their nerves as well!
